Come Back To The work

Are you finding deep emotional connection in your work? Are you showing up in your work with all cylinders firing? With ease, confidence, and championship-level skills, fully YOURSELF?

It can be challenging… we get it.
Your rent, your bills, and the very invalidation of your life choices are at stake every self-tape, every audition, every step in your career journey.

It’s an emotionally violent Industry, and the current state of our entire business- not to mention the sea change of the past few years- have challenged us all. Left unchecked, the gut-punch of bad feedback, the deafening silence of no feedback, or the lack of auditions altogether perpetuate FEAR. You start to turn on your own talent and doubt the power of your deepest instincts.  Your work begins to narrow and you shut down as an artist. You start to stray from the very thing that lights you up and books work.

SO… YOU MUST. PUSH. BACK.

You must become a leader in everything you offer the Industry, always doing the work of loving the work,
always discovering and expressing what is profoundly unique about you, elevating material to the level of humanity, and coming back to the power of your talent. The work you do every week in The Tuesday Class-in person- led by Risa, will get you there AND will remind you of the joy and magic of your artistry!

This ongoing class offers hard-core practice- an approach to the kind of work that separates you from the pack. Championship-level skills that allow you to boldly offer your talent to any audience with confidence, collaboration, and generosity, to unearth your distinctive voice as an actor, to practice presence, to allow YOU to be fully seen, and to understand the Industry NOW. Come find success in the work for its own sake, and make that your most meaningful job.

The work...

The Tuesday class is a practical opportunity to roll up your sleeves and dig into all sorts of material, exercises, and practices. To explore ways of accessing your rich emotional life and to be able to make specific, truthful choices with ease and confidence. To lose ourselves in the work. To engage with each other and to take each other to deeper and higher places, under Risa’s guidance.

Classes are off-camera, occasionally on-camera, and involve different kinds of material, formats, and practices. Scene work of all kinds, Meisner work, improv, along with writing, directing, and a holistic approach to script analysis. This is about being in a dynamic, creative weekly gym in which you establish a sustainable, deep practice that fills your creative soul and revitalizes your career.

"Risa, taking your class, I have done a complete 180 regarding my auditions. Not only are they better than ever, I actually LOVE doing them. You are so right- they are a chance to act- and can really be fun and satisfying. I never thought I'd hear myself say that. Thank you!”

- Mina Badie, SCANDAL

"I was fortunate enough to be able to perform with this talented group of actors this weekend. We wrote and performed in these scenes that were heartfelt, equal parts funny and heart wrenching. I’m really in awe of these people and this night would not have been possible without the team at the BGB Studio headed by our fearless leader Risa Bramon Garcia. I’m so grateful for the space that Risa created and blown away by what this group created. I’m so thankful to be a part of this place."

- Michael Coen, MARRIED UNDER 25

"It’s not often you find a community so profoundly transformative, so uniquely gifted, with a leader so gracious and intrepid, but that’s what I’ve found in BGB Studio with Risa and all of my fellow classmates. The Work has been a gift and an unexpected joy I didn’t realize I needed in my work, and in my life. Today, I’m grateful for and proud of every single one of us."

- Jon Snow, THE ROOKIE

"Risa, thank you for giving me an artistic home and a safe space and a way back to authenticity in the work. I feel pointed in the right direction and supported by the encouragement you’ve shown me. Your words and example have inspired me, and I’m forever grateful. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."

- Chris Barry, BLUE CREEK MOUNTAIN

"Thank you Risa and The BGB Studio for the most inspiring space and group of people."

- Katie Savoy, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS

"When I started your class I was so blown away that there are people that feel the exact same way I do. The feeling of wanting to bring joy and focus on the work back to the Industry, not the need to get the next step or credit. You put words to the craft that spoke to everything I feel about it. I am constantly a beginner and continue to be blown away by how much there is to learn. Living in the unknown. Daring to fall and not know where it will go. You spoke my language and taught me so much more. The best part is you did it without Ego. It wasn't about you. It wasn't about getting it right or a result or booking the job. It was about the work. That special thing we can't quite explain but we know it when we see it. I am very grateful for this journey and it came at a time when I needed to believe that the work I do matters and people care about it. You have given me a very special gift and I am eternally thankful for it."

- Chad Coe, COLONY
