Gillian was cast in her first professional role at the age of 10 and has since had a career that spans stage, film and all television roles from day player to series lead.
Most recent credits include DIRTY JOHN, THE BLACKLIST and as a series lead in WGN America’s OUTSIDERS. Notable recurring roles are DAMAGES, ROYAL PAINS, and FX’s acclaimed series THE AMERICANS, as well as appearances on NURSE JACKIE, THE CRAZY ONES and AQUARIUS to name a few.
Prior to heading to the US, Gillian began her career in Australia with a string of roles including a lead on the beloved series MCLEOD’S DAUGHTERS. She has studied at The Actors Centre in London; Le Centre de les Arts Vivants in Paris, The William Esper Studio in New York and has been a member of her beloved BGB community for over 6 years.
Gillian comes to teaching with so much compassion and respect for what the actor does. Her goal is to facilitate a space in which the artist can choose curiosity instead of judgement, presence ahead of ‘getting it right’ and generosity over fear.
Her most rewarding role to date is as mother to two fierce and beautifully sensitive daughters.
"I love the way Gillian guides me through a scene, rather than simply directing me. Working with her feels like a collaboration, where the focus is on bringing the most me to the work. She's kind, patient, and professional, easy to relate to, and as curious and devoted an artist as you'll ever meet. Her insights enhance my work, never overwhelm it, and I would recommend her to anyone!"
