At The BGB Studio we make work.
Our actors collaborate as writers, directors, filmmakers, and producers. Watch these SHORT FILMS – each superbly shot in just 3 hours at one location – made by the incredible ensemble of IN REHEARSAL — a working actors’ creating lab and ongoing workout. This group of mighty artistic warriors show up every week for each other and to feed their creative souls. On this shoot, their collaboration was brilliant.
We are deeply proud of the work being done in and outside of the Studio by our community of amazing artists, and moved by their continued commitment to the kind of leadership that shows up in these films.

COMING OF AGE was developed through the “In Rehearsal” class at the BGB Studio and was filmed as part of a collaborative class effort to create 15 short films over 3 days.
The inspiration for this film came not only from my own fears and questions about re-entering the dating scene as a middle-aged man and a virgin to GRINDR and dating apps, but also from the deep divide I was hearing in the gay world, in all age groups, about monogamy vs. open relationships.
It had its debut at the 2018 FESTIVAL DE CANNES in the “Emerging Filmmaker Showcase”, and then went on to appear in 17 other festivals around the world and in the U.S. including the VANCOUVER INT’L FF, the MIX MEXICO Festival de Diversidad, the WOODS HOLE FF, the SIDEWALK/SHOUT FF, the SENE FF, the OUT ON FILM Atlanta LGBTQ Festival, the TAMPA BAY INT’L Gay & Lesbian FF, and the QCINEMA Fort Worth Int’l LGBT Festival. It was recently picked up for distribution by Four Thieves Productions and will soon be available for viewing on their new AVOD platform.
